Welcome! My name is irrelevant, but you can call me UGS. This website is... well... I'm not really sure what it is. On the one hand it's a website dedicated to my growing collection of ugly golf sweaters, on the other it's a personal blog and creative dump. There's a strong argument to be made for splitting this site up and focusing on each of the aims separately, but that sounds like a lot of work to me. Work I have absolutely no intention of doing.

why ugly golf sweaters?

To me, ugly golf sweaters represent something important: they emphasise the complexity and non-linearity of Beauty. Like Crocs or Danny DeVito, ugly golf sweaters are so grotesque, so opposed to convention, they transcend. It's as if Beauty was a destination and ugly golf sweaters discovered an alternate route there; they travelled so far through the gardens of Ugly they stumbled across Beauty's back door and snuck in for free.
